Default Does 100% pure amla oil exist? Mineral free?

    Hello my dears,

I was just wondering whether 100% pure amla oil exists? (Or is at least commercially available?)

Most of the discussions I can find in the archives are all about Dabur or Vatika amla oils, which are apparently mineral-based.

My hair LOOOVES the amla, but in my bid to be hair-healthy, I'd prefer a minera-free amla oil.

Any ideas? Links? I am wary of differnent countries' product disclosure standards, and would like to buy from a trusted dealer, with assurance it is pure.

When I google "100% pure amla oil" most of the links have sneaky little descriptions like "We sell Amla oil made of pure Amla fruit (with a natural oil base.)"...what is the base?

    Thanks, Yvette

    Thanks Aisha

I have looked through a few brands, but they tend to be blends with other oils (almond, jasmine, lemon etc.) but then say "and a base of mixed oil" or "and a base of other oils."

And how do you make your own!?

Ok usually in Indian amla oil it will have other ingredients like brahmi and such.

If you want to make sure it is pure be sure to read all ingredients and base oil should only be coconut or sesame.http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0oGkkyN2e...ir%2520oil.htm
    This is a good oil!

I make my own by boiling whole amla into coconut oil on my stove then let it cool down and strain into glass jar.

    Thanks Aisha,

I'm still googling around for a simpler oil with just a few ingredients, if not just amla.

As for you own oil - wow! How inspiring! I wonder if I can get my hands on fresh amla here in Perth? Probably not...

Here's what I've found so far:

    http://www.garrysun.com/amlaoil.html

    This site also looks reliable?

I have never used any form of alma oil, but I find some of the stuff that first site listed that it is good for interesting like : it promotes sound sleep and used to increase memory.
