WOAH! I hope so, so that it may happen to me some day!
April 21, 2008 (after the 9" damage chop): 17"
April 27, 2008 (because I was redoing my updo and mom said it looked a little longer): 17.5"
Is that even possible? Oh well, I'm happy

I re-measured after washing last night (cause I thought the dirtiness might have been weighing it down) and apparently it IS possible.
Definitely deserves the dancing cheese
I'm guessing it's because I cut off 9" and the damage was holding it back. Now I get that 6-month stall at BSL

Well when you started the thread about comparing results I was not trimming. Unfortunately my hair got a bit upset with that plan so I'm back to trimming again. I've decided to trim every 6 months as last time round my hair was happy after 6 months of no-trims with dusting. Nothing's set in stone though.
My hair normally grows 0.5" each month with not a lot of seasonal variation.
Joined June 2006 length 24"
[trimmed about 2.5" during year] June 2007 28.75"
[trimmed 2" in January 08] June 2008 32" (estimated).
So that's a net gain of 8" in 2 years, but worth it because I got rid of loads of damage and still have a reasonable hemline.
April 21, 2008 (after the 9" cut): 17"
April 27, 2008: 17.5"
May 1, 2008: 17 5/8"
From now on I'm hiding my tape measure and only taking it out on the first of the month
I am curious ... if I measure my hair am I supposed to measure it wet or dry? my hair is curly some days and almost straight other days so I'm not sure how to measure it without the "noise" of a different wave pattern.
Oo, I never even thought you could keep up with the lenght like this! I might just have to start
I'm not completely sure as to how to measure the lenght of my hair though. I think I'm supposed to start from my front hairline and then just put the plastic tape measure over my head till the very ends of my hair... Is it so?
April 15th 2008 cut off about 4 inches.
Current length as of May 5th 25 inches.
Next will be a micro trim in June.
June 1st 2008 measurement 26 inches
Micro trim will not be until the end of the month.

Tmmycat and Swanns:
You can measure your hair wet or dry but you must always use the same method each time.
Dry hair measurement is more accurate as wet hair stretches and may give a difference each time depending on how much you stretch.
If you put the tape on the front of your hairline and put it over your head to the bottom of your hemline, then that is the usual method that most LHC'ers use. You may have your own method but as long as it is consistent every month, then it will show accurate growth.
