I chose "other" mainly because my long-time favorite is still my topsy tail and I really have been making an effort to only use it once a week. It's just so easy!
So I think I need to branch out when it comes to hair toys. What is your favorite, your most reliable? And why? I use scrunchies, barettes, and sometimes a stick for a chinese bun. I have never tried a fork, slide, etc. Also how do you know how long of a fork or slide you would even need to make them work?

I voted stick because it holds all of my hair securely. Usually sticks that don't have a mirror like finish as they slide around easier. I like raw (but sanded) wood.
I don't really like having ponytails (when my hair was short they were cute though) so the scrunchies are out. Though I love my red velvet scrunchie my friend got me from Poland in high school. I use that for when I use my sock bun.
I prefer having it all up and secure in a bun. sometimes if i'm rushed i'll grab an elastic or a scrunchie and tie my hair in a bun type thing. But it always comes undone and I have to keep redoing it.
I love sticks so much! I'm hoping forks will work the same for me![]()
I used to wear sticks constantly, then I used pins (2 or 3 inches, goody brand, coated with a teflon-like substance), but now I pretty much wear a braid constantly, and that calls for a plain ol' elastic.
i prefer forks, unless my hair is damp, then i go to my dymondwood sticks. for me, forks hold everything up without needing pins to secure my buns.

Forks for me. As my hair is very slippery I usually need two sticks, to keep my style look tidy, but my head looks so "crowded"with two sticks poking out. A fork gives me a much better hold.
Still, I like and wear sticks as well...
My Ketylo sticks are my favorite things ever!! I keep some in my purse, too. (I use 2 at a time).
When it's not sticks, then it's a braid secured with nylon elastic.
Forks. Definately forks.
I am stick stupid, and while I do use scrunchies, at work I'm not allowed to wear ponytails. I don't like barrettes, and slides just, well, for the most part (other than my celtic knot slide I have) slide out of my thick hair. Forks on the other hand, hold well and hold all my hair AND hold comfortably.
For me its scrunchy for when I'm short of time , all I have to do is to put my hair up in a pony with a matching scrunchy.![]()
For me, at this length, I reach most for a Flexi8. I like that the item is self contained for the stick/slide part, and with the proper size works for whatever 'do I do.
I usually start out with my hair down, but I always carry a Flexi8 in my pocket as I know at some point I'll end up putting it up.
<-- July 2008 . . . . . . . Every day my hair is not shorter than the day before.
