Kinky 4s' thread

Now I don't feel superficial lol!! I was dreading having to cut about 3 to 4 inches, goodness, it took me long enough to get this length. So microtrims sound good, if I'm going microtrims every 2 months or so, would the breakage/splits reach my scalp before I can stop them? I need to just examine my hair but it does look like a very obvious/serious W...Maybe it's the braids too, I had braids in for 3 months.

Gurrrl, I'm growing out a "W" right now. You can't tell from some of my pictures because my hair is gathered together but my hairs are shorter in the lower center/nape of my head b/c they had a handicap to start with.

When my hair broke off in the back it was shortest at the nape area so my hair is still growing in a slight "W." It's beginning to even out after a couple of small trims though. I just can't handle cutting off 4 or 5 inches in one foul swoop to get my blunt cut even though I know it will grow back.

So I'm on team "cut a little off gradually." Also thought I should point out that some stylists confuse uneven hair with split ends when they are 2 different things.

To the picture question: where would you like to add the pics? In your lhc album or to post in a thread?

If it's the latter, just upload your pics to a hosting site like photobucket which will automatically generate a url for each of your pictures. Then click the "insert image" icon up there ^ (looks like a mountain with the sun shining over it) and copy and paste your generated url from photobucket.

I still don't know how to post pics from my lhc album into threads but then again I haven't tried. Hopefully someone who's been here longer than I have can answer that question.

@kaelle Your hair has definitely grown a lot since the first picture. I don't think your stylist had to use that much heat, (press and flatiron? If she used the comb-chase method as skraprchik mentioned, she wouldn't have had to do all that), but I can't argue with the results.

As for zee challenge I accept! This "w" has got to go!


@C.H. : Yeah, my SO sometimes sings a Rick James tune whenever I refer to my hair as kinky..."She's a very kinky girl, the kind you don't bring home to muther" I just give him the look and it usually ends there.

I'm currently searching for classic length 4b. I know about Sera and others reaching hip (she's my hair inspiration) but I haven't found any classic length loose 4b hair. I've been searching hair boards and using search engines with no luck. Please post links if you know of any. tia
