I just had a big shedding from olive oil accident, so maybe I don't want to take any risks with spreading oil all over my scalp...
Oh I forgot to mention the thickness effect, castor oil is great for bringing forth more volume.

And I never thought of mixing castor with avocado, I might have to try that but I definitely don't need help in the volume department.
yeah, take it easy especially if you have fine hair, massaging such a thick oil on the scalp is not the gentlest thing and just the manipulation might cause you to shed a bit more...
i used to put it on my eyelashes but found out that it gives me acne, so i'm reluctant to try it on hair

(sorry if I am stating the obvious or something) Perhaps you just need to settle for a "homebase" color that you can imagine having for years to come? That way it could be easier to achieve longer hair length without that much damage or need to cut it?
