My flexis finally arrived! After just looking at it though, I can tell that my Daenerys L is too small. I'd hoped that since the leathers sometimes ran big, I could make it work, but it's a no go. I can likely return it for a larger once it's back in stock. Unless you guys can think of some creative ways to use it or watch to switch me for an XL Daenerys? Pics of the flexi haul coming shortly.

    Ugh, that's disappointing
Ponytail and half ups work for me using the smaller sizes.
    Looking forward to your pics

*At Lunasea and Booky's suggestion (thank you both again!), I cut off all the attached sticks and use my own (from acrylics to LR metals to wood).
They are not as heavy in my wispy hair (slipping and headaches) and I can vary the stick size for what I need.

I don't wear many half-ups or ponytails and also bought two mediums, so I'd rather have another XL for full buns. Oh well, I'm thinking that I'll exchange it.

No worries, GG. Thank you--for everything.

Erinliz, that's adorable--both kitty and flexi!

Queen of Cups, nice haul! I'm glad they work so beautifully for you.

What a bugger. When not using my smaller flexis to hold ponytails like what GG suggested (although you'd need to pad a large out with a thick/chunky or wrapped stick mayhaps), I often use them to pin non-centreheld buns from above or on the side, or to hold a free-tailed French twist (although the flexi gets hidden by the sprouting tail, so is a fail for the Daenerys unfortunately).

This is a hasty pinning of my medium Daenerys just now in a, um... bee buttish kinda thingame:

    And here are two I've shared before with different clips;
a medium flexi pinning a cinnabun a while back:

And another medium doing a cinnablob pinup (the major coils need to be pinned or else they'll blop out from the middle on me):

I also use a large no worries, but that's mainly with metals, so you'd have to try it to see. You may find the Daenerys a little too big for these depending on how much bulk you have in your bun.

Thanks Crystawnifor the examples. I'll have to experiment over the weekend before I decide 100%.

    Here are my new goodies.

XL Elsie with stick. I do love this one. It seems to hold a bit tighter and also hold a bit more hair than a normal flexi.

M April Flexi. Terrible log roll, pretty hairtoy. :P

M Isabelle set (bobbies not seen)

Group shot including my surprise gift.

Ah, there you go....I hope that exchange works well for you I have never done a LR return/exchange.

    You're welcome ~ anytime

I completely forgot that method of securing a bun ....you have mentioned it in the past
Pinning would be a must for me as well....we'll see how it goes...it is such a pretty look

Shorty, nice haul! I especially like the Isabelle on you. And I reckon your gorgeous braided buns would probably work the best with the bun-clip method, as they give the flexi more stability (something to grab without too much bulk or hair-slip). Good luck and have fun trying (hoping for no arm-fatigue--which often happens when trying new bun-dos, at least for me. )

ETA: another method I've used for just about any-sized barrettes (slides, etc.) is clipping (the flexi) to your scalp first, then wrapping the bun around it and tucking the tail underneath. A'la neko:

Very pretty flexis Shorty89! I love the Elsie too
I use the smaller sizes for logroll or up and down braid.
And for centerheld buns. You make 1 turn with your braid, rope or strand, then put over the flexi, and then wrap the rest of the braid around this.

Flexi size M in a centerheld rosebun

Logroll start , put flexi, then wrap the rest of the hair around it, kindof like a cameo, flexi M

Full logroll with a flexi L

Centerheld braided bun with flexi size M

Chignonbun held with 2 amishpins, flexi size M for decoration only

Interlaced braids hold themselves up, so flexi M only as decoration

    XL flexi centerheld loose knotbun

    Flexi L, Braided logroll

    Flexi M, knot ponytail

    Braided XL in centerheld knotbun

Regular beaded flexis I like XL the best, I mainly do centerheld buns.
The regular beaded XXL flexi, it fits over the entire bun but I find it a bit heavy.
The braided XXL are sooo much more lightweight! Very nice!

Hope this gives you some ideas for your braided L :-)

    And a bonus Elsie XXL
