I've been told that too, and one of the perpetrators was a hairdresser who should have known better. It's all about business!!! lol

I don't believe this for a second. I stopped trusting hairdressers after a couple of very bad styles on me. They always cut more than I ask for. Cutting hair is their living so no wonder why they want us to come back as often as possible just to keep the style in shape. Long hair doen't need cutting as often if you want it to grow super long. I do the trimming bit myself until it is to long. From past hip-length I may need someone to help me with the trimming. But until then, nobody is getting near my hair with a pair of scissors.
Kazazi, I wish I had a salon like that to go to! I trim my own hair but it would be so nice if i could go someplace that would do microtrims for me. I'm always stressed out that I could make a mistake and cut more hair than I want.
And yes, every time I say that I'm trying to grow my hair out, the first advice I get is to trim more often. I understand trimming often to maintain length or to prevent/take off damaged ends, but never understood the need to trim it for faster growth.
My mother use to believe this. But she either doesn't any more, or she has just stopped talking to me about it!
My daughter in law told me that my granddaughter would have trims or else her hair wouldn't grow. She got it from her mother and believes everything her mother says.
I've heard it and i know it's complete....yes. Its not true. But it sure does help to get rid of any damage.
Yup it's a myth!! Once I stopped getting my hair trimmed every 2-3 months it grew so much
I voted: YES
A nice bun makes the day.
I have been told that trimming hair will make it grow but I don't really believe this.
However trims make my hair look better and I will never forget how, in the middle of a massive shed, I went for a trim and the shedding stopped that very day.....maybe it was just coincidence though.
