Default No orange rinse off water with nupur henna

I am using Nupur Henna which I prepared in chamomile tea and coffee. It stained a little dot on my hand orange after about 20 mins. So I froze it overnight and used it this morning immediately after thawing it.

However, when I rinsed my hair, the rinse off water was not orange like it usually is with the Hennas I have used previously. There is also no staining on my scalp like it usually is.

Does that mean there is something wrong with my Henna. I have dark hair, so I use it for conditioning and frizz rather than colour. Will I still have conditioning benefits (I am using the 100% pure henna with no other herbs)

Not at all! I suspect even with a dot on your hand you didn't have a lot of dye release is all

Thanks for replying Nightshade. I am making another batch now. This time using the tea when still hot and left it for 2.5 hrs before freezing. how can I check for dye release?

Another test I've seen is to put the henna paste in a plastic bag with a paper towel under it, and that when there's dye release it will stain the bag and the towel, but I've never personally tried that one.

I think mixing it with hot water and giving it more time will do the trick!
