3-prong Mapleburl fork in need of small repair, free to a good home
Wrestling my beloved 3-prong Mapleburl into my hair during an ill-fated trip to IKEA, I heard the dreaded "snap", and upon carefully withdrawing the fork found that a 1cm section on the end of a prong had come loose and was threatening to break off altogether.
Much as I love this fork, it does not suit my hair (whose coarse and brawny strands have bent metal and snapped acetate before). I'm also not in a position to repair it properly. I'd therefore love if someone who would enjoy this fork could take it, repair it, and wear it. Buyer pays postage only.
Fork
Usable length: 12.5cm
Total length: 15cm
Bought in October 2019 from Igor's Etsy shop. Original description:
The Hair Comb-328 is made of African Wenge wood and Blue and Beige Stabilized Russian Poplar Burl. Handmade.
Photos taken in the meagre light of a British winter with a warm lightbulb on.
Damage
Nothing has come off or been lost. A 1cm section of wood at the end of one of the prongs has sheared, and would snap off completely given some force. I imagine it will be possible to repair it with some glue.
The fork will be packed delicately in bubble wrap to try to prevent further damage.
Postage
Royal Mail - up to you what service you would like (economy, tracked, etc). Rates available on this page: https://send.royalmail.com/send/your...=&weightUnit=G. It'll be a "Small Parcel". So for example, the cheapest service to the USA is £7.40 with no tracking.
Outside the EU - will post before Christmas.
Inside the EU - will post in mid-January.
