Thank you so much I actually do love my hair color (I always say I'm so happy I'm a brunette who loves having dark hair... My lazy self could never handle the upkeep if I was one of the brunettes who wished to be blonde )

I have had some luck with using aloe vera gel, so I think I might incorporate it into my routine. I do have some flaxseed, so I will try to make flaxseed gel (as an aside, I saw a video of a woman who made flaxseed gel to apply to her face—I was intrigued. This may be my excuse to give it a try both for my hair and face )

I have been reminding myself all day to come here and let you know that THIS WAS SO HELPFUL!!! I wetted my hair, applied aloe vera gel, braided my hair into 8 sections, and then made two 4-strand braids. I left it all in for a little over 24 hours, and my hair looks so much better. I don't mind the frizz as much if the surrounding hair texture matches, and this seems to have done the trick. I think I'll make this my go-to after I wash my hair from now on. Super easy and made me feel human again Thank you so much for these tips!!

Thank you WednesdayAddams, bat, Aunt Rapunzel, Ylva, and baanoo for the kind comments and sage reminders (and embee for the lovely kitty cat comparison... Those are some majestic kitties!) It's amazing the difference in responses here and on a similar post I made on Reddit. People on Reddit basically told me I have damaged, frizzy, straight hair that nothing will help. One person even took time out of their day to send me a PM telling me I should cut my hair short, lol. I'm so thankful for this kind little corner of the internet
That's the difference between long hairs and the general public, they have no idea what damage hair actually is

    ^ Indeed!

Looking at your pictures, I agree with many others here that you might have wavier hair than you think. My hair is also frizzy if I try to wear it straight.
Sometimes just misting it with a little water and squeezing it between my hands is all that it needs to create some waves and get rid of the frizz.

Lets see how long this little lump can get. Viva la natural!

    It's been said
It definitely looks like it may be wavier than you think - try styling techniques. Not uncommon after the pregnancy.

How it looks like? Is it mediocre?
Not really. It's a beautiful long mane.
Should I tell you my little secret? I look at people's hair all the time. In the bus, at school picking up my son, at work, on the street. And I see gorgeous long hair, but I also see poor looking hair.
So while I have some days when I really dislike my hair and wish for it to be thicker, longer, shinier, more wavy, I also know that it's pointless to compare with the others. I try to focus on the positive things and what I like about my hair. Yes it could be better ... but it also could be worse

This to me is just insanity, because at worst your hair just kind of looks average in terms of health. (And to reiterate, i dont think your hair is the worst case: it is lovely). Most people have some imperfections in their routine when it comes to texture care, and some frizz sometimes. People are way too scissor happy. If hair were so easy to damage beyond repair, we'd all be bald. The stuff is meant to stick around and provide protection to our skin, its quite tough. Looking pretty is sometimes not its first priority is all...that's why we ask for advice. 😅

This is exactly why the crowd outside of LHC scares me so much. It's like all these folks are just shouting at you to cut your hair. It's a solution to every problem for them
That's why I gave up growing grey. Maybe I just ended in the wrong Facebook group but I felt like the pressure to cut hair short was too overwhelming.

I like your hair very much, I went through mediocre hair and I understand you. I was wondering if I should have it long because I didn't think it was pretty, when I started taking care of it I started to love it. Now I love my hair and I am grateful to have it healthy and shiny. Many people have problems with their hair, and I think we are privileged, your hair is beautiful, be proud of it because it is yours and keeps your energy and memories ♥️
