    Smile Hello Everyone !

Hi everyone ! My name is Luna and I just found out about this community ! I'm really glad to have found it

I have always loved long hair but those daily struggles of having long hair is real such as keeping hair out of my face, accidentally getting them in the lips, getting them stuck everywhere ! At times it made me consider getting a cut but I want to remain strong and I hope by joining this community, I can learn to manage those daily struggles and keep myself motivated !

I came here for the same reason. Buns are useful, head coverings are as well. Excepting special occassions, nobody in their right mind with hair your length wears it loose just because it is ... everywhere. Now I'm over 20" beyond so it DOES work. Good luck

Thank you so much for the warm welcome as well as for all the advice

Yes ! I used to put my hair up in a bun but I've read somewhere that having a tight bun might be bad for the hair. Though I'm not sure what is considered by 'tight', I didn't want to take the risk so I ended up relying more on hair clips recently to keep the hair in place but it is not as effective.
Perhaps I should read more and google on the appropriate way to tie a bun that prevent hair damage.

Welcome Luna! "Tight" can refer to how it pulls at the hairline, how tightly it's twisted (as in a Cinnamon Bun), or how compactly the length is wrapped around the base of a bun. I like to see how different people form their buns. Everyone seems to have their own unique way of manipulating the hair even if the steps for the bun are the same. If you watch tutorials by different people on YouTube, you can probably see what I mean if I haven't stated it well here. I'm also a fan of head coverings!

Hi Luna, I am brand new here too. I'm about to make my intro post like all good newbies do. As far as keeping your hair out of your face, I really like using fabric headbands, and clips that have more grip like the snap clips and non-slip alligator hair clips. I also recommend looking into the victorian/edwardian prose tive styles. they've been working for me when I don't want my hair down.
