It turns out it had 0 to do with those settings, Lady Stardust. Because I have now made these changes, either way and it does nothing whatsoever. I made them stricter again, because why not. Why would I not want to limit "incoming" traffic; see "incoming". Zero relation. Only less protection for me when left open. So no. I am going with the default settings of my provider. I think I can trust them, can't I?
Chromis, it's gonna be here tomorrow (trust me LOL), no pressure. But I did want to mention it because it is a royal PITA, I can tell you that much. And I was not around that much lately either, to have that then happen is real bothersome. I have sooo many YT videos to catch up on! (over 200 but shhh).
Sarah, you can just put the IP into your computer (network settings) and go through there. Or, you can use a web-based proxy server, enter the LHC address and just surf the web through their services. The computer doesn't have to be "with" you. It is often another internet computer. But seeing as you have no issues, it really isn't important, is it?
Whilst my tea brews:
They absolutely adore helping me and do sometimes (inadvertently) show me shrooms!

I love your kitties, Chromis! They seem so confident and active. (I love mine too, but mine are kind of shy and lazy.)
The proxy I'm using apparently makes it terrible for "reply with quote", so... here goes... What OS are you using?
Do you mean Windows? I have Windows 11.

Go into your settings. Network & Internet. Proxy. Manual proxy setup. Use a proxy server. Set up. Then just add the IP & Port (very important to add all). You can find tons of free proxy servers online, some work, some don't. Some do for a while, then give up the ghost. I go through a web service (those are easy). Tons; just Google to your heart's content!
