Default How do you organize your hair toys?

I've been decluttering and have found an embarrassing number of hair accessories that I don't use due to them being tucked away in various nooks and crannies, such as my jewelry box. I am trying to reorganize them so that they are all in one place and easy to see on the hypothesis that I am more likely to use them if I can see my options. So I was wondering how other people are organizing theirs.

I haven't been concerned about protecting my hair so my go-tos are braids and scrunchies, which I built a hanging organizer for. But I have bobby pins, clips, combs, forks and other paraphernalia that I need to figure out.

I'll add pictures when I have the necessary permissions.

You can add pictures now, you just need to host them on a free hosting site such as imgur. To have access to the albums on the site (which has a bit of an issue at the moment, and so is adding an avatar or profile picture), you need to have 25+ quality posts, which is a basically a few lines, not just a few words like I don't use hair oils (which I don't, just a singular shampoo plus conditioner for dandruff and/or dry scalp).

To answer your question, I have my covered elastics, hair bands, etc. in a carry on plastic that you would carry your lunch in my vanity, with various other hair supplies (mostly claw clips of various sizes) scattered wherever (mostly on a removable cart in my bathroom, but I have some on one of my kitchen counters as well), so most of mine aren't organized. The only things I organize are my Blu-rays, DVDs, video games and books, everything else is where it's easier to access (usually all over the place). I have a jewelry box, but I've never used it (perhaps I should donate it, since it's only taking up space in my china cabinet which contains more collectibles than actual china).
No friend requests, please. I won't accept them

I don't...except for my Timberstone Turnings sticks, which I keep in the little drawstring pouches they came in. Ugh. I want to organize them, really! But I've never really figured out a good way.
My spin pins have spun-pinned together into an impenetrable mass, my bobby pins, same story. I need a good organization system, lol...

I'll have to check out that thread you linked, neko_kawaii! Maybe there'll be some good ideas in there!

I keep my forks and sticks in a shoe box and my spin pins live on my dressing table (which is actually a granite slab underneath the window and above the radiator).

I stopped using spin pins when I quit having to put my hair up for work (I kept killing them), but I had all my French-style bobby pins tied up with ponytail holders, and all the pins and spin pins lived in a baggy that I could take with me to school, so I didn't have to have it up all day. I have a small desktop Sterilite 3-drawer organizer that I used to keep the pins, and hair ties in decent order the rest of the time. That worked for me for years. The little organza jewelry bags are nice if you want something more durable than a ziploc, but still see-through and the bags utilize vertical space better than little boxes. If you got multiple colors, you would be able to color code.

I have most of my hairsticks and -forks in a tea tin that I repurposed after I had finished the contents. The tall and narrow profile seemed a perfect fit and the lid on the bottom adds extra height so the danglies aren't sitting on the table. And the lip is perfect for upins.

I hope I attached the file correctly.

Thanks for tip. I got overly-focused on the album stuff in the permissions and forgot about other options. It took an unpleasant amount of time to get that other option set up, but now it's done.

    As for pictures:

Behold! My scrunchie organizer! It's ridiculously overbuilt, but as someone with no crafting skills, I was super proud of myself for doing the research and carrying an idea all the way through to completion.

I really need to add another tier, and maybe do a small purge of the ones I never use.

Or are you just wondering about having enough toys that one would need to organize? I have ADHD, so if I don't organize, then I end up driving myself crazy by spending half of my getting-ready-time looking for stuff I KNOW I have.

Whatever "solution" you have, if it's not used on the daily, keep it *safe* and that means away from dust and the elements (think of sunlight & fading if applicable). I think I keep a hanging organizer out, and have various things in it (scrunchies, claws, headbands, spare combs, "mouths" to my blow dryer)... that kind of thing.

Yeah, dust & sunlight. Learned my lesson... just sayin'...
