I know a lot of people (actually, myself included!) love Squish to Condish, but I was wondering if you also extend this to when you oil your hair?

I am curious to hear if anybody does this besides me! I am currently using mineral oil as my final step in my routine and I find myself squishing it through my hair.

I guess I do squish the oil when I am applying while my hair is damp, at the end of my other stylers I used (usually just a cream leave-in). When I apply it when my hair is dry I use smooth it on, or use my fingers to rake it through as evenly as possible while kinda finger-combing. I haven’t really thought this through, but I guess it is me reacting to the waviness or flattness of my hair, and general state of wet or dry.

Reaching for the oil now, thanks for the reminder

That squishing motion seem to result in tangling for me. I like raking and combing through better.

I will squish just the very ends if I use oil/serums/hair grease.

I find applying it to my hands and smoothing over the hair while twisting in sections works well!

Always do it on wash day, right after my leave-in, while it's still wet. I scrunch it(silicone) as if I was styling curly hair and then lay my head on the side so I can rake some more up to about 4cm away from my scalp. After it's dry I just apply some more to the ends w my palms and smooth through the rest w the leftover oil.

Lately I've been loving squalane for my dry hair. I'll palm it through the ends and follow up w some silicone.

When I used to experiment with heavy oiling and masks, I always squished. My hair is low porosity and if I don't squish, things tend to just drip off onto the floor...when I mist too. Squishing helps it absorb as much as possible.
