Lesley8, it looks way too thick at the ends for you to be at terminal length.

    I agree completely.

You could try to measure your ponytail circumference every 10 cm from upward to down, starting at the back of the scalp, going to the end of your hair. You will see how many cm/inches of circumference you lose gradually and then you can easily count at what length this circumference will reach zero - your hypothetical terminal.

Hehe, well, I certainly didn’t loose four inches of height.

And, Lesley8, I agree with the others who have said that based on that pictures your ends are too thick for terminal length. A stall for a short period of time (a few months) is also very common. Hair doesn’t really grow at a consistent rate.

Oh, you've probably got at least 2-3 years of possible growth from that pic

Good idea--I was kind of starting to think about that (since obviously when you're at terminal length, then half your hair should be half the terminal length or less--assuming each hair falls out in the exogen stage at random, which in reality it probably doesn't).

I haven't measured my ponytail circumference beyond a point close to the scalp, but I can tell by feeling that it's thinner but definitely more than half the circumference around the half way point between the scalp and the tips, so I should have some more adventure with my future hair length!

Lesley8 don't worry, you will make it to knee, based on your ends being so thick. You WILL achieve a LONGER terminal if you take good care of your hair - keep your hair up, don't use heat or color and take care of splits. Good nutrition, enough sleep and exercise and good emotional health help too.

I was at my terminal for about 5 years. I achieved my max length which was 4 to 5 inches below knee. That last foot was extremely thin.
