Stupid question alert: do you get more/better attention from men with long hair?

Well, as the poster who you're all cranky about now, I'm having a hard time deciphering what Ylva is saying here so I'll just say, in case nobody could tell, I'm a little cranky only about "oooh, do men like this better? or that?" because really, does it matter?

Does it matter to people to be attractive to their partner/people they want to be attracted to them? Yes. Does it matter to people who could be harassed/receive unwanted attention for their hair? Yes. I don't see where anyone is asking if they have to have long hair to be attractive, if they have some sort of "duty" to anyone else to have long hair, etc. It's just a question: this attribute that I have, does it attract attention?

Are we now restricted from talking about dating and relationships and attraction here? If I asked if wearing X or doing Y would make me seem more attractive, would that also be disallowed?

Back to topic.

Absolutely. Rarely do I wear my hair down. When it's up, and you are an older women, you get ignored by the majority of men. But down, well you turn the heads of a few "older" guys.

My last encounter, and it must have been about 5 years ago, the last time I was "down" in public, a guy in the coffee line kept making comments, getting other people to look at me etc. and this made me very uncomfortable. I don't like attention like that. But once, fresh from the salon with perfectly straight (blown dry) waist length, blunt cut hair, I walked into my dentists office and passed a (young, handsome and dressed in a suit) man who said "excuse me, but you have really beautiful hair" and that kind of a compliment I can take.

A life time of ogling from too many men. But, surprisingly, many positive comments from other women.

I would say yes, if the hair is worn loose. But if you don't want such attention, just wear it bunned and problem solved.

Honestly, I've had longer hair and I've had shorter hair and never noticed more or less attention either way.

I keep getting more and more and more... requests from mostly, if not all, middle-aged men on my IG. I still do NOT want to be forced to take down my profile picture. It's there to stay. But man... and I'm sure it's got scam written all over it. It bugs the crap out of me on some occasions, though!

I need to change the post I made recently. I henna'd my hair two nights ago. Straight henna this time over light brown hair with highlights. It came out the most amazingly shiny auburn. (I need to wait one more day for oxidation, from my experience, but it's still very vibrant.)

And I took my son out for his driving test yesterday, then we went to Starbucks and then the grocery store for a couple of items.

SO MANY men were looking at me.

I am kind of girl next door looking and older. I'm not about to win any beauty contests. I was amazed by how many stares and doubletakes I got.

Now...I don't know whether they were just shocked by the glow, LOL. (I LOVE it.) But attention...yep.

I hate this garbage. I don't know your age and you don't need to post it. But I am in my 50s and suddenly so many gorgeous, impossibly accomplished men are sending me DMs begging my absolutely beautiful self to "friend" them. Cool story dude. I mean I know a guy's got to pay the bills (or a woman, who knows) but...hard pass.
