I did this probably...10 years ago now? And I did 30 treatments in a row and I probably saw 1/2 a shade to 1 shade of lightening, sans damage.
I guess it's the yellow in the tumeric that does it? We have so many plastic bowls and utensils that are perma-stained yellow at this point from cooking with it.
I definitely did try honey and distilled water and lemon to lighten my hair about 5 years ago at this point. (I can't recall if I added cinnamon or not) The honey made my hair feel VERY soft, but there was zero lightening of any kind.
I then ended up abusing sun-in at the beach and while it worked very well to lift my level 4-5ish hair to varying shades of 7-9, it absolutely ruined my hair, so now I just go to the salon.

I gave up after 3 tries a couple months ago and just henndigoed it I'm thinking the chemical dye I had in my hair blocked the honey lightening
