    Default Hiya Everyone!

    Hello, everyone!

I'm so excited to have found this lovely place. I think I recognize a couple names from other places like YouTube (such as SarahLabryinth).

    My hair story:
So my mom had hair. A lot of hair. My faint childhood memories recall it being floor+, but the only good length picture I can find is when it was not quite floor, just prior to my existence. Unfortunately she died.
When I was little, my hair grew pretty fast. Looking back at pics, it was almost to my butt on 6-year-old me. I did the chop to mid-shoulder-blade a few years later to match my adopted momma, but the absence of trims meant it recovered pretty quickly. It was long enough to solicit comments from my peers at a new school the next year.
Since then I think I've had one or two "official" trims, plus a one-time affair with bangs (blech). Now I just ferociously S&D splits.

My hair is currently at ankle length, although barely: my fairytale ends reach that knobby foot joint, so I think it counts.

I'd love to get it to floor or beyond while also thickening it up. I have the genetics for it, so we'll see...

Blessings and long anagen phases for you all!

I just want to slightly remark on something you said, about good genes. You are born with a set amount of follicles on your head. If your hair has always been the thickness you have, you can not make it thicker, you can't get more hair on your head. Now of course, if you have been malnourished, or had stress and hair fall out, you can make it thicker. But if you are healthy, have all the hair on your head that you've always had... that's it, girlfriend. No thickening that up. It's physically impossible.

Oh, for sure...I meant more along the lines of thickening my hemline: preventing breakage so that my shorter hairs join their friends down at the bottom.

Ah you knew! Oh that's good! I am recovering from breakage myself (bunned too tightly). Anyway. Growth journeys are awesome!

Howdy, good to meet you! It's lovely that you've found long hair as a way to connect with your late mom <3
