    Red face Ready to get back to my hair journey after a two year hiatus

    I'm not exactly new here as I made the account about two years ago. I stopped being active here, as many things happened in my life around that period, and in the last year I drastically changed my hair routine... And I've no idea where to (re)start now! So I thought it would be neat to start with a little recap of the time I wasn't active on LHC and get my hair thoughts detangled

    About a year ago I chopped all my hair from collarbone to pixie length, got back from henna to my natural blonde. Last month I finally found a hairdresser who works with curly hair and I'm now ready to grow my hair much longer. My current length is just about 1cm shy of shoulder length, and my goal is waist for now. I also realised that the CG method wasn't working out for me, so now I'm exploring different products and practices that might suit me better - however, I'm keeping some elements of the CG method I enjoyed!

    My current routine is oiling my hair the night before wash day, CWC washing with a shampoo that does have sulfates (it's a local brand of shampoo and it contains nettle and panthenol, I really enjoy it as a clarifying shampoo), then just putting a little bit of curling product and letting it air dry. Wash days are once every week or two, depending on how my scalp feels, and in the meantime I refresh it when needed with the Avocado co-wash by Lush, which i think is alright, but couldn't suffice for a heavy-duty wash.

    This one's a little longer but I hope to reconnect with the community soon enough! Cheers

    Welcome back!

    I also had a long hiatus and just came back Life happens, but hair continues growing. Sometimes it's good to focus on other stuff, but now I feel like I have a lot to "catch up on". Working on rehabing my scalp and rehydrating my ends atm..

    How exciting that you've found a hair dresser you like, and someone to collaborate with on your long hair journey. I'm looking forward to hearing more about that! I also have wavy hair, but CG wasn't for me. Sulfates and silicone forever <3!

    Good luck and happy growing

    Hello, I'm brand new here. Good luck with your new long curly hair journey. It's hard starting again, I'm doing that too. But its exciting finding new and better ways to do it.

    Howdy, good to meet you! I commented on your post about buying products in the U.S. before I had seen this introduction ( ;

    Welcome back! Transitioned to natural blonde, pixie cut, aiming for waist length. Exploring new routine, not following CG method. Current routine: oil before wash, CWC with clarifying shampoo, curling product, air dry. Wash weekly or bi-weekly, and refresh with Lush co-wash. Consider clarifying shampoo for heavy wash. Regular trims, experiment with products and styles. Enjoy reconnecting with the community!
