Sorry, I'm not of much help here. Hopefully, someone else have a good recommendation for you. So far, regular cotton towels have done the job for me. I just want to test if microfiber is more gentle, since it's softer, and maybe more effective as well?

I've had this happen before with regular cloths, where I found out that my mistake was fabric softener.. But this is not the case now. I also know that the cloths absorb better if they're slightly moist from the washing machine, or a wring in the sink. Are the towels I bought just bad quality, or is there something I can do to "activate" its drying abilities?
Did you wash them with any fabric softener (even vinegar counts). Because then they will do that. You can only wash them in detergent. Nothing else!

At least that's good to know, to avoid those! I was shopping at Normal another day, and I was thinking about getting some of those - I think there were a couple of different types - for those were very affordable.

I have one hair turban from Aquis, I purchased it from a sale (and it came with 2 silk scrunchies!) But I have no idea if it was worth the price or how it compares to other brands. But I'm happy with it and I have had it some years (I think, time flies...).

The cloths work much better now, hopefully the same is true for the towels. Thank you!
Glad it helped. Clarification seems always a good starting point when it comes to problems with "fibers"

Aquis looks fancy! Yeah, I wouldn't recommend the cheapest from Normal. But let's see later today when I wash if anything changed with cleansing them! I did however buy a waffle style turban from Normal in the past that I'm happy with! My only issue is that it's very small for my big head and thick hair, but it works just fine! Sometimes you get what you pay for, I guess

My current ones are waffled microfiber ones from Lidl. They do, actually, a better job than the expensive Aquis that I got on a whim and that is why I am *never* again buying an expensive, aka overpriced, microfiber towel. It's made of microfiber fabric; how different can they be, really? I mean... Come on!

I use microfiber sports towels from Lidl for my hair, but they donīt soak up water well either. (Actually, I use them for my body as well and they donīt seem to soak up there either ). And I do use marseille soap for washing and regular vinegar for rinsing (as softener). But I havenīt minded this until now, but then I didnīt know many people had this problem. Anyway, next time I see those "waffled" towels in Lidl, I will give them a try, thank you lapushka for the tip.

That's interesting! I've only had cheap microfiber anything, so I wouldn't know.. I like my waffle style better than the regular one too, at least so far Hopefully the regular ones work better now that I've washed them (again!). It was seriously like putting dripping wet hair in a plastic bag. I was left soaking wet with water running down my back, and the "towel" was completely dry.

Anyone know if Turbie Twists are still available and if not, what's a good replacement? My hair towels are getting pretty old and aren't as absorbent as they used to be.
