Glad to hear that some have been in touch with tuanyiji <333 Back when I was doing classroom teaching, I remember the extraordinary fuss it was for students who went back to China over the summer to access many foreign-based websites. Hopefully we will see her again soon!

Anyhow, I was out fishing this morning. Nothing was biting (except for the first mosquitoes of the season, that is), but I still got some enjoyment out of the cool breeze and the beautiful calico-bushes, which are about halfway to their full splendor right now.

How pretty! I'm jealous that you can keep a headwrap on. I struggle to even keep a scarf on my head. My hair is too slippery and my head too flat.

Actually, tu in my handle tuanyiji literally means bunny. Funny enough, tuan actually means a bun/round-shaped object.

Thanks : ) We are getting to the time of year when many local plants are in bloom, so I have more opportunities to wear flowers.

Oh, shelomit, great flowers! Calico flowers? Never heard that before. We call them Mountain laurel or Kalmia latifolia. You should have seen this area this spring! It was AMAZING for them. Never have I seen such a good year, and I've been here a long time.

The cats do not like those flowers, sticky little flowers that get stuck to their feet. Too funny to watch... step, step, pause, fuss with feet, step, step, pause, fuss with feet...

Aw, poor little Blackie XD I learned the "laurel" name for this plant when I was living in Kentucky, but the first place I saw them was Georgia and there my neighbor called them "calico bush." That's the term that's stuck with me, and it honestly does look a lot like a calico print.

Thank you! I love wearing this scarf as the weather gets warmer; it's cotton and very light.

To be honest, I often redo them throughout the day because they slip. If I want them to be very stable, I use a wig grip/velvet headband and straight pins. That takes more time than redoing it, though, so I reserve that treatment for special occasions or very long days.

2023.6.9 High Lazy Wrap Bun turns 180 degree counterclockwise, I’m surprised how different it looks from yesterday’s 90 degree CCW version. Now I have new ideas about creating more bun variations, just try to turn them CW or CCW 90 or 180 degrees.
