Oh my goodness it’s getting late but I was working on the last minute touches of these holographic heart hair sticks I made earlier.











For the record, I’m not showing my homemade sticks so I can sell them. I’ve just always been a huge crafter and I’m having way too much fun creating these for myself. Selling them would take all the fun out of it for me. Just a hobby and a way to have sticks that appeal to my tastes.


Now I must get some sleep. Big day tomorrow….

Made these cool holographic hair sticks today and loving the holographic rainbow shimmer. The effect is even more intense in the sunlight. I added different toppers for added charm and interest. Made these ones a tad shorter and used square-ish dowels. They were so much fun to create.











I went shopping a couple days ago and thought I’d pop into Claire’s. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had 2 styles of hair sticks so I bought both! So pretty. Check them out. The tortoise shell ones are super cute. 👇







Love the metallic-gold floral pattern on these Chinese-looking, dark-brown wooden ones…

Thank you so so much, love. I’m really having fun with them and enjoying myself. Working on another pair as we speak and I will show them soon.


You could simply get yourself some wooden dowels and sand them down smooth and then just paint them in a color you love. You can use varnish or lacquer or even clear nail polish after they are painted, to make them glide through hair like a breeze. Just use a pencil sharpener to make a pointed end. Very easy and fun too. You don’t have to put beads on the ends of the sticks if you don’t want to, but I love the added bling.

Pumpkinsage, those are absolutely gorgeous! Love them! That wooden one is amazing with the glass top and the plant-life encased inside of them…wow! I think I saw some similar types like that on Etsy. The talent of many people on etsy is truly amazing. Love the clear unicorn one too. I actually had some clear ones custom made for me by Lady Idun and can’t wait to get them. They look like glass.


Haha, yes there are too many colors from that seller and it’s hard to choose…I know the feeling.


Ok now I’m assuming IRL stands for in real life? Actually I had no idea at first and had to google it. I just had to deal with some work stuff, make 2 long-winded phone calls, and make a later dinner. All is well and I’m ready to finish making the homemade hair sticks I’m currently working on. I will show them as soon as they are done.

Ok so here are my new 6” canarywood hair sticks that arrived today from OutNumberedNovelties! They will be great for days when I want something simple and less flashy. I really like them. A bit short for my big hair but I’ll make them work. The wood is so cool.







Ok and here is a shot of the first pair of hair sticks I made, in a double french twist style. Love how they look in my hair. And I really appreciate how long they are (10”).
