So, my first ever hairsticks arrived today! I didn´t expect the package at all, delivery info said it was in some unknown transit country, so complete surprise! They were well wrapped, nothing broken. They were really cheap (0,45 - 0,90 € apiece) and best of all, there were no additional taxes or fees that I had feared. I love them. I can now do the "wear all your hairtoys at once challenge" because this is basically all of it (plus a few small claw clips). I am happy.

Nice haul! What is the one on the far left? It seems like it would hold well due to the wavy shape.

Thank you! I believe the shape is inspired by the traditional wooden chinese hairsticks, only it is made of plastic (the seller claims it´s resin, but it really isn´t). So I will be careful with it, it isn´t as sturdy as it may look. The black ones are some light wood. (All sticks are from the same seller, from the well-known largest chinese online store.)

And Fiorentina, thank you too I think I will order a couple more of the wooden ones. I really like the traditional, timeless look.

I have a black wooden stick from that same manufacturer! I like it, I think it looks cool and edgy. It's way too long though, I'm gonna cut and file and paint it shorter

That´s cool, sarana! I am going to order some more different styles of these black traditional hairsticks. I don´t mind their length - it varies depending on the style, but I also thought about decorating them. Some of them have tiny holes through which you can pull a string or wire and decorate with beads, pendants, tiny flowers, etc...

After many years, my trusty 6" spiral stick proved too short. I'm experimenting with orchid and other non Gibraltar buns (which have been my everyday style for years). Even in my usual style, my sticks have been ending up all or almost all inside my bun, and I prefer a little bit to poke out (like .75" on each side).

So!! I'm on the hunt for a 7-8" stick.

Any favorites or recommendations?

Yes it has! I'm on a long road trip right now, so I chose one nice stick I wouldn't be upset at losing, and some plain dowel sticks to bring along. I do miss having more options right now

Absolutely I am totally with you Braided Lady. It is way better keeping all the beauties safe at home.
