We are still trying to figure out what is wrong, but it is not just you and the forum is not out to get anyone. Our software hates all users equally! Especially the mods

There are quite a few possibilities, including serverside stuff we can't fix from here or updates (or lack of updating) which we can. There might be some bumps and potholes as we figure things out. Please fasten your seatbelts and return tray tables to their upright and locked position.

OK, you guys, that's a relief. Guess what I had to do now... Go through Iran. Now that worked. So first US proxies. Talk about it. They stop working. Ukraine (political). Talk about it. That stops working. Iran. All different ports mind you, and proxies well and truly hidden so they don't "feel" like proxies to the server, which is I guess why it's working.

    I mean it feels deliberate.

ETA/ If that stops working now, I mean... come on. It feels like this server is alive and kicking; literally.

Someone elsewhere on the forum pointed out that they are seeing a security certificate expired warning, which is strange because the certificate was renewed Friday, January 20, 2023 at 5:00:00 PM.

Coincidentally, perhaps, the first report of the timeout error we received was just before 11AM on Friday, just a few hours before the certificate was renewed.

Is anyone else experiencing security certificate expired warnings?

Does this trigger and AH HA! for anyone with tech knowledge?

(Also, I'm going to rename this thread so the nature of the issue is more obvious so maybe it gets more attention.)

I had one warning when going through one proxy, 1, but that's it. It was the US proxy server.

Wow weird, now I've been locked out for most of the day too - can only get through on mobile data.

Is there a gathering place on another platform we could communicate if this does go down (hopefully any such occurrence would only be temporary, but might be useful just in case)? I know members are out there in the wilds of t'interwebs, but finding them is the challenge.
Length goal well and truly met, now just seeing how it grows ...

I am starting to miss a slew of people on here, Bat for instance, who posted quite regularly. I mean am I the only one that figured out you can check if the page is up through this site:
    https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/

and if it is up, then go through a proxy server?

ETA/ Who has trouble with their home line / fixed ethernet or WiFi? I mean roll call, people. I can't just be the only one, right? That would be weird, seeing as I am the only one except another few, that's posting about these troubles.

And if it's just a few, then that would be easy to fix, I presume? No? What is so complicated about this?
