I haven't tried reconnecting the router yet to see if they actually silently changed something behind the scenes; that's my next step. But if not, then I have no clue what's up with the router that would be blocking it. We haven't changed anything, and what little I did already check last week looked normal. And it still doesn't explain well why there are a bunch of us globally with this issue, if it's something specific to the modem! The mystery continues... But hi, all!

...Except in the time it took to type that post, now NOTHING seems to be able to connect anymore, while hard-wired... What the heck BS did that support person pull just because I was on the phone with them?? (But apparently rebooting the modem yet again got things back?? Huh??)
    Interesting.

I would recommend everyone experiencing this issue to contact their ISPs. I’ve heard of issues such as this affecting very specific targets such as Battle.net games only. It could be a protocoll issue.

To be fair, that's the first thing you do, right? And the fact that so many... so many (according to you guys, the mods) are having this issue, it doesn't make sense that it would be our own ISPs.

You guys don't know more by now?

I am still having this issue. Or, am I the only one? No, right?

Seems so weird; one person is telling you this, the other that. Come on!

The especially interesting thing with the ISP call is that they never even wanted to know what site was having the issue. Which is why I really wonder if they did something behind the scenes, watched what got logged while we were on the call, then put in a ticket after the fact to get it fixed properly, but that seems like a rather roundabout and needlessly difficult way to do it, when they could just ask what site.

I still don't think it's actually (or at least not entirely) an ISP issue, much less an individual router issue. The only reason I called was in the hopes that their logging might have better insight into what/why was going wrong, to try and help point us to the real cause and maybe find a solution. But either way, it's incredibly bizarre how wide-ranging yet spotty the issue is/was -- at least, while lacking the "ah-ha!" explanation!

At this point, given that we all had different starting times for our timeouts (though it doesn't sound like I was the first one), I expect we'll all also be able to get back in at different times. I'm just hoping that whatever is now working for me remains working, and the rest of you can get back to normal soon too!

Darn hair dressers and their misplaced bra straps... Looks like it'll be longer between hair cuts this time, with an extra 6 inches to regrow!

I’m under the impression that not many have in fact contacted their ISP about this but rather tried at-home solutions. As far as I know and observe from general forum activity levels, users experiencing this issue are the minority, but yes, it’s a significant number of people from all over the planet. Multiple ISPs could have, for whatever reason, blocked access to a certain server.

    Have people tried the following:

    1. Left-click the Windows icon.
    2. Write “cmd”. It searches for that. Open the Command Prompt.
    3. Write after the C:\Users\user> “pathping forums.longhaircommunity.com/“ without the quotation marks.

This will tell if you can send and retrieve packages from the website. A high package loss could point towards a router port issue.

I am still having this issue and as you see, lapushka you are not alone.

Thank you Ylva for your work, but in my turn I also tried to fix that unpleasant issue. Without success
I was stuck in a long phone call with my provider in which, after completing a few tests, i was credibly assured that the problem was not with me.

So the only thing I can do now, is wait.

Interesting! Imagine LHC being mistaken for a pirate site.

Access is still fine for me.

I still cannot access the site using my home internet. Just updating, not grousing.

Before I read this thread, we (mostly DH who is a computer wizard) figured out why only one computer in our house gets through to the site - it is the one with IP vanish, a proxy server.

So this is my current work around.

All right at the same time though?
