Welcome and best wishes on your journey!
Hi, I've been a member of this forum for a few months now. I haven't really introduced myself, I don't think.
I am in my 40s, a single mom, and cancer survivor. I've lost my hair five times. Every time it was horrible. Before cancer, my hair was my crown and mantle. I tried not to cut it at all. The longest was hip length. I would like to get back to that.
I use henna and other herbs to color or condition my hair.
I was up until recently using high quality, thick conditioners to soften my curly hair. But just recently I've switched to Baking Soda and Vinegar for my hair. It was a practice of mine before I had lost my hair. I have noticed, instantly, how soft that vinegar makes my hair, when compared to even the best bottled conditioners or oils.
I plan on No Pooing for as long as possible. Pretty much until I get sick of it. I am an herbalist and forager, and in the past I've used herb tea rinses for my hair and body as well.
I hope to make new friends, as I am kind of alone much of the time. My daughter has gone away to college, and now it's just me.
Welcome and best wishes on your journey!

That sounds rough! Welcome to the forum. I am glad you are healthier now and can grow back your hair. I know I would find it traumatic to loose mine, let alone all the other terrible things that come along with cancer and the awful medication/radiation.
