Technically returning but this is my first post!
Struggling to understand the way this website functions but I am 99% sure I don't have image privileges so I'll just describe my recent hair history and goals in words
☆after bouncing around shoulder length and going through numerous phases over the last 8ish years I have decided to go back to my childhood dream of super long hair!
☆ in May 2022 I bleached and dyed my hair red, and a month or so later bleached and dyed it back to my natural color.
☆in late August of 2022 I cut my hair just above shoulder length to clean up some really awkward layers
☆in December 2022 I cut in some layers to blend in grown out bangs I'M SO OVER.
☆today my hair hits about an inch below my Collarbone when wet, right above my Collarbone when in 2 dutch braids, and a bit longer in the back as I have a U shaped Layered cut. I have fairly fine average thickness that waves slightly if i don't touch it after washing or goes nearly perfectly straight if I detangle it wet. When I get image privileges I'll post pictures!
☆my current goal is waist length, though I want to try to get longer Ultimately, however I think I more attainable but still dream goal length I've never achieved in the past is important!
☆currently I'm finishing up my shampoo and conditioner and then plan to try no poo, I'm oilong the length of my hair lightly after washing, and doing simple oil treatmens before washing, finger detangling except right before washing when I use a wet brush on dry hair to make sure my hair is not tangly before washing.
☆I'm trying to wear my hair up more to protect ut but its a bit of an awkward length to put up without having to make it super tight, which i obviously don't want. I would welcome hairstyle suggestions!

I've been really into scarves too!!! My current go to hairstyle is some variation of two braids. Usually two French twists going into two English braids! I used to be convinced I couldn't use oils because my hair is too fine, but they have mad emy hair feel so.kuchbetter! Especially over the old bleach.

Howdy, nice to meet you! What's your current length--perhaps shoulderish by now if you cut above shoulder in the summer? I wouldn't be too concerned with protective styles at that length, but a few turns of an English braid might be manageable. I know a lot of people say they do well with disc buns at shorter lengths.

It's about an inch below Collarbone! Im.not overly concerned but I live in cold places and the on and off of coats plus lots of grippy wool sweaters is defined rough on my ends, i also have hair that tangles if you look at it wrong. I just discovered I Can do a single English braid and fold it under itself with a hair fork to fake a fancy bun, so I anticipate that being a new staple.

I also had a childhood yearning for long hair! (For me it was classic, which I honestly still don't think I want, even looking at everyone's hair here.) I suspect it's a fairly common theme, and for good reason.
I've always been tempted to bleach and go red. Why did you decide to go back to your natural color?
(Also, in terms of hairstyles, maybe the twist-up-and-clip thing would work for you?)

I genuinely loved the red hair!! But I have really dark hair naturally and the way the roots grew in bugged me, plus I want to get back into a more low waste hair routine and dying really doesn't lend itself to that! But I think if you want to, go for it!! I'm not sure if that's unpopular Advice here, but honestly hair should be fun! You can always dye it back if you hate it! Or better yet, start with a semi permanent vegetable based dye like arctic fox or oroiro! Dip your toes into colorful hair without the damage and long term commitment!!
I find claw clips give me a headache for some reason(sensitive head I guess), which is a shame because they're so cute!
