Welcome to LHC!
Hello everyone! I've recently (over the last few years) gotten more into hair care then I used to be, and have decided that LHC is the place to be. I used to swim multiple days a week, so my hair wasn't particularly healthy. I started with Reddit's r/curlyhair and r/wavyhair, as well as naturallycurly.com, and then found my way over here!
I vacillate between wanting very long hair and very short hair, but I recently needed quite the haircut (to slightly shorter than APL) and I'm really missing the length, so I've decided to commit to growing it back for at least a few years. My goal is waist, but I'd consider growing longer. I think MBL/BSL will be a good intermediate length, in terms of being able to put it up easily.
About my hair: My hair is currently at APL, and the sort of wavy that can be curly after a wash, but then loses most of that once I brush it/put it up/etc. It's fairly thick and mostly fine. I usually co-wash about once a week, and use shampoo whenever I feel like it. I let it sit with a fair amount of conditioner on it, and then "squish to condish". Recently I've been experimenting with leave-in conditioners. After wash day, I usually brush it every day or every other day. I've been experimenting with SMP, but I haven't gone NW yet. Maybe someday. I try to stay approximately in line with the curly girl method, but I don't take it too seriously. I am, however, opposed to silicones for environmental reasons. (I've struggled to find good sources either way, but since my hair doesn't seem to need them I don't use them.)

Hi! I recently got to waist, and I am very happy with it, so I hope you have fun getting there too.

Howdy! I love to swim, but it does wreak havoc on my hair D: Looks like we have similar hair types. My routine is actually very similar to yours, minus the leave-in conditioner!
