If vinegar is helping with tangles, you might need a good chelating wash.
I usually have these ingredients even when I have not been shopping in ages. Sometimes they are all I can find from my kitchen to make my conditioner better (in my everlasting battle against tangles). But I think they work good to be so cheap. To the lengths I put 50/50% conditioner and oil and a bit less vinegar. I'd say this cocktail helps with tangles.

Oof, I love a vinegar rinse but I would never put that concentration of vinegar on my hair - much less leave it on for any length of time! :

No, me neither. I dilute it much more. Forgot to mention that. I will check out that link, Hedera! I've been curous about the topic.
I've been using conditioner mixed with vinegar ages before I knew anything about haircare... and it gave me shine combined with my other routines. But it might be true that vinegar eliminates the effects of oil. So I don't know if it works together with oil or not..
