I use oil for detangling; I started with mineral oil (which worked great, I would just part my hair down the middle and put 1-2 drops in my palms and work each side individually, and finger detangle like a dream. I've since switched to EVOO because I also use oil for moisture and mineral doesn't absorb in. If you aren't already using one, silk/satin bonnets go a long way in staying tangle free for me. I didn't think my hair was tangley until it wasn't.

Get your mineral oil into a dropper bottle, and use just a couple to 3 drops to start with. Seriously, you do not need much, and especially not if you are using it in a leave-in serum sort of way. HTH!

Have you tried a Wet Brush? It's a life changer for the tenderheaded.

Oooh I love my wet brush. I use dupes though, often sold as a "shower brush" or "detangler" but you have to take a close look at the bristles, they're hair-thin and there's little baubles on them at the end. Also the "straw brushes", same mechanism. I have dupes of the real stuff and it works just as well as the real ones.

Mineral oil is often used as an ingredient in hair care products, including detanglers, because of its ability to coat and smooth the hair shaft, making it easier to comb and detangle. However, when it comes to comparing mineral oil to other oils, such as coconut oil, the answer depends on the specific needs of your hair.

Coconut oil, for example, is known for its ability to penetrate the hair shaft and moisturize from the inside out, which can help reduce tangles and breakage. It also contains vitamins and antioxidants that can help promote overall hair health.

Mineral oil, on the other hand, is a petroleum-derived ingredient that may not provide the same level of nourishment as natural oils like coconut oil. Some people may also be concerned about the potential health and environmental risks associated with using petroleum-based products.

In summary, while mineral oil can be effective at detangling hair, it may not offer the same level of benefits as natural oils like coconut oil when it comes to nourishing and promoting overall hair health. Ultimately, the best tangle resolver for your hair will depend on your individual needs and preferences.
