Red face Newbie here looking for recommendations!

Hello there!! New here and so excited for this journey. I'm currently between bra strap length and mid back length. I cut out all heat, wash my hair once a week, wearing protective styles and doing oil treatments once a week.

Those of you with similar hair types, what are your recommendations for hair oils? Currently i'm using coconut and castor oil once a week, and argan oil daily on the mids and ends.

Would also love recommendations for dandruff! I usually get flakes around 3 days after washing and I've had it my whole life.

Hello and welcome! Wavy, fine, thick hair here but I’ll share with you the oils I use
I use high quality food grade oils to oil my hair (and to cook with!) The only oils I use are refined coconut oil, avocado oil and olive oil. Olive oil is my current favorite but it can leave the hair visibly oily which doesn’t bother me because I wear my hair in protective styles under headscarves and buffs daily. No recommendations on dandruff as that’s not something I deal with. Good luck on your journey!

Thank you so much!! I haven't tried olive oil yet but I may try that next. Didn't even know people use that on their hair so thats great info!

Hi! I have very similar hair to yours. I've tried various oils over the years but the only ones I've had success with have been jojoba, argan, and coconut. I had dandruff before going water-only (here called WO) 8 years ago. I no longer had official dandruff but I did have tiny flecks occasionally. Those have completely disappeared in the past month since I've been doing sebum-only conditioning (here labeled NW/SO). Time will tell if it proves as wonderful as I'm finding it for these past 6 weeks but that's my input.

Beat of luck and see you around!

Welcome. LOL Isn't that funny? I think I have only ever heard Brad Mondo talk about "mids" and "ends".
WCC method (washing) --- Rinse-out oil (MO) --- LOC/LCO method (styling)
