My skin (face) is typically normal & dehydrated (but not dry) so I like to use hyaluronic acid (HA) and rich creams. HAs are really good at drawing water out from the depths of your skin or from the air (like humidity) and bringing it to the surface of the skin. I thought maybe my scalp is just dehydrated and it needs HAs and moisturizers. I put the Inkey List's HA serum on my scalp the other day and had no issues, no itchiness at all. Then today, I put on the HA serum and my Youth To The People super berry hydrate & glow moisturizer mask. I've had no issues with itchiness or greasiness on my scalp!! THIS SOLVED MY ISSUE.

Right before I shower, I sometimes use The Ordinary's glycolic acid 7% toning solution to help gently exfoliate. It seems to help with the itchiness too!

I'm wondering if any of you have tried this too and would love to hear what skincare products you use on your scalp!
I definitely have had this exact thought! However my skin routine is the oil-cleansing-method, and that doesn't really work if you can't scrub. I did try a few different foaming oil cleansers, but eventually found that scalp cleansers work better (the Aveda one is really nice but expensive). I have found that oil massaging the scalp either the night before or even an hour before washing helps, but I don't always remember to do that. I don't have quite as dry a scalp issue as you have, but mine is always flaking, oily or dry. I have thought about trying regular moisturizers or creams, but have no idea where to begin with those. You intrigue me with this hyaluronic acid and so will have to do some research to find something to try. My length is very rarely dirty, it is just my scalp and hair close to my scalp that have major issues, so finding a way to make the scalp happy is my ultimate goal.

I love the concept of this! I will say, I'd be very cautious with the glycolic acid because I've read that it can break down keratin bonds and weaken hair over time.

I've been curious about sunscreen in hair. Not "sunscreen for hair" but regular sunscreen, maybe diluted? I haven't done it and just try to keep my head covered instead.

It works just fine if you're putting it on your scalp! I do this all the time if I know I'm going to be out in the sun for any amount of time and don't have a hat or umbrella. Just don't dilute it or else it won't be strong enough to protect your from the sun and don't put too much. Take a tiny amount and dab it on your part/hairline!

I've been using my skincare products in my hair for probably a month or so now, and I have had really amazing results.

I've been cleansing my scalp with micellar water + cerave foaming facial cleanser, and that has been really great on my scalp without feeling like it's stripping it. I can wash the length of my hair with this no problem.
After showering, I've been using a leave-in conditioner made wth 20-25% of this toner (Herbery Earth Raw Honey Skin Lotion) and 75-80% water. It not only keeps my scalp feeling hydrated without feeling oily, it also makes an amazing leave-in for my hair- it detangles it and adds shine. It has no scent and is not very heavy (but it is quite thick, hence my diluting it with water) and doesn't make my scalp greasy.

I live in a climate that can get quite hot and humid and am prone to scalp acne. Shampoos didn't seem to always help, but this has been great for cleansing my hair without breaking me out!

Curious what micellar water you use? I have the cerave cleanser you use and am thinking of trying this out for my next wash. Do you mix the two and then apply?

I have been using cosmetics for a long time. I buy dermal fillers and more from a reliable supplier. Just after a few months of use, I can give some tips described below. Here are three tips for skincare as scalp care:

Exfoliate your scalp regularly: Just like your facial skin, your scalp can also benefit from exfoliation. It can help remove buildup of dead skin cells, excess oil, and other impurities that may clog your hair follicles and lead to scalp irritation and inflammation. You can use a gentle scalp scrub or a soft-bristled brush to exfoliate your scalp once or twice a week.

Keep your scalp clean and hydrated: Washing your hair regularly is essential to maintain scalp health. Use a gentle shampoo that is specifically formulated for your hair type and scalp condition. Avoid using hot water and harsh chemicals that can strip away natural oils from your scalp and make it dry and itchy. After washing your hair, make sure to rinse thoroughly to remove all the shampoo residue. Also, use a lightweight scalp serum or oil to keep your scalp hydrated and nourished.

Protect your scalp from the sun: Your scalp is just as susceptible to sun damage as the rest of your skin. Excessive sun exposure can cause scalp burns, dryness, and even skin cancer. To protect your scalp, wear a wide-brimmed hat or a scarf when you are out in the sun for an extended period. You can also use a scalp sunscreen spray or a hair mist with SPF protection.

I use cerave facial bar soap on my scalp when traveling sometimes, and the foaming facial cleanser for my bangs all the time at home. They have similar ingredients to my favorite shampoo bars so I figured why not?!
