Oil in the evening (+ braids) and rosemary water in the morning which I just started.
I currently wash every 7-10 days, moving towards 2 weeks. If you don't do anything to help the sebum/natural oils from your scalp move down the lengths, that was a big factor in keeping my lengths happy--in fact I'm stretching my washes longer because my hair and scalp are least happy the day before and after a wash now. I also oil my mids and lengths with 1-2 drops of oil and do a prepoo oil and deep condition. I've noticed that if I don't do the prepoo treatments of oil and conditioner, everything dries out and I have to wash sooner.
It might also be worth noting that having an oily scalp can be a normal/expected part of stretching out washes as your scalp adjusts to needing to produce enough oils to replenish daily/every two days to across the number of days you're stretching.
Not true for everyone, some people just produce more oils than others, but I was a greaseball for a month or two before things calmed down.

Length goal well and truly met, now just seeing how it grows ...
Picky scalp but easygoing hair, thank goodness
I actually have to agree with this. I think if me from five years ago saw my day 10 hair he would yell at me to take a shower lol. It's decreased a lot but I still definitely feel it in my scalp, especially if I'm stressed or not well rested. But the oiliness feels healthy and not gross--whether that's a mindset shift or a real change I couldn't say.

If I can't wash my hair and need to go out, I section the tuft on top near the front and wash just that bit. It takes one minute and dries really easily, then people would have the impression that I have clean hair.If your hair is thick on top you can also do just a scalp wash. Oily hair always make me feel too hot so I never tried to stretch washing too much. But then my hair is very strong I don't think washing does any damage to it.
I oil my ends, and keep it up with a claw clip. I wash once a week. Except when I go out with a friend or whatever. Washing my hair twice a week gives my scalp this weird feeling when my brush my fingers through my roots. It isn't really painful, but it don't feel right either. After a day or two that feeling goes away, so once a week ideally.
