What about one of those bottle with the long nozzle like people use for hair dye? Just squirt it straight on the scalp.

Putting it in my signature because I have to say it so often:
Do what works for your hair, not what other people say is "right" or "wrong." If it works for you, it's not wrong. If it doesn't work for you, it's not right.

I use a small piece cut from a sponge to apply liquids to my scalp. Using dipped fingertips just creates a mess and self-spraying is completely out of the question. Dabbing with a saturated sponge is easiest for me.

That's a really interesting idea! I'm immediately picturing a sponge like for painting. That sounds like a good way to get a very even application onto the scalp for sure

Not even as big as a painting sponge, less than a square inch, but it sure beats fingertips upside down!

For tangliness I'm using oils, honey, aloe Vera, banana mash, fenugreek... Changing.

Maybe I could try this bottle system. To me it just feels that it's hard to get the scalp fully saturated that way. At least if I compare it with rinsing the scalp... But this sponge possibly could do it. 🤔 Maybe bottle too. So that I can have one treatment working on my scalp in same time with another treatment working on lengths. Must test.

I use pipettes to get things to my scalp, I have some small bottles with those.
I have heard the mermaids singing... and I do think that they will sing to me...

It can take a bit of time since you'll need to insert the tip of the bottle between the hair in several different places, but I imagine you'd have to do the same with a sponge; I don't think there's any "fast" way to specifically target the scalp. But with liquid, the good thing is that it doesn't stay just in one spot, so it will also run to other areas if you use enough.

As far as the stuff you're using for detangling-- it seems that goes more on the length than the scalp? So one shouldn't interfere with the other.

I use a mister bottle to dampen my hair between washes and then a bit of conditioner rubbed between my hands and spread on the length. It helps keep it moisturized and tangle free.

This sponge-technique is actually genius for all hair! In days between washes 🙂 Why have I not seen this in YouTube?? ...
(Actually I used towel this time, because I couldn't find a sponge I can trust, but the idea was same )
