Welcome! The standard advice is don't try too many new things at once. Make one change and give it 2 weeks before making another change, unless of course you don't like it, then stop immediately.
Hi everyone,
I'm Viridia from Ireland. My hair is currently a bit over BSL and damaged from several DIY Balayages. I'm trying to grow it to a healthy tailbone length, not sure if I'm ready to completely let go of lightening my hair though ( my natural hair color is dark blonde). I'm also new to viking reenactment and hope to find some tips on historic hairstyles here as well.
Since going off birth control I also suffer from hair loss and an extremely oily scalp, so I'm sure my hair growing journey won't be an easy ride, and I'm happy I found this community of experts here![]()

Welcome to the forum
...back to my natural hair color...
Thank you! I'm definitely guilty of the trying too many things at once, so I'll take your advice on taking it slow![]()
Howdy, good to meet you!
Welcome! And spidermom is spot on, it's in the newbie advice (sticky) as well, I think. Don't change too many things at once, if one thing works and another doesn't, you'll never make sense of it all. So change one thing, and go slow!
Hello and welcome!
There are some good historical resources here if you search through the forums. Like spidermom said, make slow changes and assess instead of trying all sorts of new things at once (AKA, don't make all of the mistakes I made when I joined here at BSL).
Hovering at hip this year! Hip hip hooray!
Hi and welcome from another Viking re-enactor!

Welcome and happy growing!
