Thread: Do you prefer natural hair masks or natural leave-in rinses?

I think rinses feel more efficient, because you can use it after washing and conditioning and leave it there. When I rinse mask away, it many times feels it comes all away and no effect is left.
Well, oils are different... I was talking about herbal rinses here.

For me masks tend to work much better, but my hair is easily weighed down and doesn't abide any kind of leave-in well. Typically I rinse my hair very thoroughly after washing; the most I can get away with is a very light rinse like catnip. Otherwise my hair starts to clump and misbehave.

True that it must be light. Gel usually gets hardened in hair and causes problems if you leave it there. But it's also good that I don't need to achieve the gel level, because teas are so much easier and quicker to prepare.

So far I have only done masks, but rinses sound so much more time efficient. I need to look into that!

What is your favorite herbal rinse, and what does it do?

With me fenugreek has been the best (but I don't have large experience of herbs). Gives soft, shiny, tangle free hair. So far best result I got from soaking fenugreek seeds in cold water overnight and rinsing my hair with that water and leaving that in hair (and eating the seeds )

To be honest, vinegar rinses might do the same. I made a mixture of vinegar and fenugreek and that was working!

Also flaxseed-fenugreekseed-gel worked very well (and of course that one must be rinsed out).
