Also thanks for your insight on preventing splits - I had been wearing my hair in one or two braids almost every day for protection. Although this made my hair a lot thicker, the ends were still getting damaged. Now I've switched to mostly wearing buns, and braiding when I want to go out. I just received my first hair stick from an Etsy seller a few days ago and that has given me a lot of motivation to keep it bunned up. Hair sticks are so cute!!!!!!!! BTW I really dig the braided updos that you post on this website, you've got a lot of talent and creativity for hair Looking forward to getting to CL eventually!
Thank you! I'm sure that you'll have lots of fun with hair sticks!

    Welcome!

Take a look at my hair type - I have fine, dark blonde ii hair that's even bleached in the lengths, but I'm now well beyond classic. It's definitely possible, although there are differences in how much each individual's hair can take even if the types look similar. Mine is, for whatever reason, quite sturdy.

Good luck on your growth journey!

I've also got f/ii hair, I just had to accept that wearing it down or in a braid was something I could only do occasionally, it gets easily chewed and split now as it's tailbone length. I have a strong taper, but I'm hoping with more tlc it'll thicken up. I'd suggest trying a faux crown braid if you like braids but need to keep it up, or try medieval style hair taping. Best of luck growing to classic length!

Thank you for the kind words and advice everyone! Ylva, our hair is very similar - I am American but ethnically half Finn and have family living north of Oulu. Paper.wyrm, I have noticed this too and have started wearing buns with satin scrunchies waaay more often. I need to learn how to do more fun updos and braids this summer so I can live out my fairy/witchy/princess hair dreams!

Recently got to 25+ posts and set up an Imgur account, so here is the first picture of my hair on this website! I got a 2" trim about 2 months ago, so the ends are nice and fresh. Trying not to trim until 2023 now and maintain with S&D. Again, thank you all and this website for the lovely community, knowledge and encouragement <3

Hello, witchy friend! We have relatively similar hair it seems - f/ii in particular - and yes, braid damage is something I was slow to accept because I love wearing my hair in braids. I’m creeping up on tbl now and it’s more and more rare I wear my hair down/down in braids.

It sounds like you’re already doing so many good things - welcome to the land of LHC.

Beautiful! My entire family is originally from Finland. And I think that your hair is long enough to try a haistick. They're even more hair friendly
