To tone down orange you need blue
Maybe not cassia with indigo, but indigo only? Small amount and just for 30 minutes for exemple. Maybe in a gloss?
I'm pretty happy with Fanola No Orange shampoo
Hi all,
i recently went back to henna and am so happy! I used henna mixed with a tiny bit of amla and a little fenugreek. However I applied it over bleached very yellow hair and the henna came out very very bright orange. It just looks too unnatural for my taste…I’ve washed it a few times and waited about a week for it to calm down but it really hasn’t lol.
I want to stay a light red but don’t want to use chemical dyes if possible to try and tone this down just a bit.
any suggestions? Maybe use a tiny bit of indigo mixed with cassia?

I would strand test before throwing any indigo on there; to me that sounds like the worst idea ever! If you don't want to risk it turning a brown: don't.
*strand test* s t r a n d t e s t ! Honestly, I can't say that enough, it seems! Yes, it means collecting shed hair for a number of weeks, and trying it on there first, risk free, I might add.

True, indigo on henna can turn brown or even black
So test first
Sorry, Lapushka, but I have to confess that I never strand test. I used henna, indigo, cassia in different configurations over many years now but I never got any disaster on my head

What color are you after? I'd suggest some more henna to get a slightly darker and more redish colour.

Aye knowing what color you're trying to get to would be helpful.
