Actually measuring the length of a strand of hair, a long one, is a bit tricky. It's quite elastic, like a rubber band. So just naively stretching it out to meaure with a ruler is not particularly accurate. I tried measuring the linear mass densityof my own hair and consistently got a value about 10% less than published, no doubt due to "stretching"

I read fairly recently an article on hair length in the USA. If I can find it again, I'll post a link to it. It would be interesting to compare here.

Maybe you guys will inspire me to actually measure my hair one of these days in inches or CM. I haven’t yet but can tell you without measuring that it’s not the longest hair on here!

Measuring in at HL. I think last year I put BSL even though it was more than halfway to WL.
