    Default August 2021: Rag Curls

Here is Torrin Paige demonstrating a full head of rag curls on long hair, but what else can you do with a rag curl?

One of my favorites is as an accent at the ends, a trick I learned from friends in high school who would put the end of their sleep braid in a rag curl and the next day wear their hair down and have lovely little curls at the end of their braid waves.

I use a rag (or pin curl) on the ends as an accent to a bun like this

    or this

    Beautiful Neko!

I've only tried it once and most of the curls didn't last long I've been wanting to try it again, but haven't really had any reason too. I don't want to spend the time doing them, just to sit around at home

    Very pretty curls!!!

I haven't curled my hair for a few years. I may do it in 2 weeks to surprise DH for our anniversary. He loves curls.

All through high school and most of college, I used socks to put up my hair. Maybe 6 in all. Every night. Nice billowy curls.

My mom used to put my hair in rag curls. She was insanely eager that I have long ringlets. Poor woman... my hair is straight as a ruler.

I was a pin curl child. Everything, all over my head.

My mom also did that! I guess it was a popular hairstyle in the past

I would like to try it some time, but I have a feeling my curls would come out looking clumpy or stringy, then when I tried to make them not that way, would just turn into a nest of frizz and poof.

(Often I'm not even that happy when I deliberately do very pronounced braid waves, because when I have braid waves in, my hair acts like it's curly, which means it wants to be extra-tangly and frizzy.)
Putting it in my signature because I have to say it so often:
Do what works for your hair, not what other people say is "right" or "wrong." If it works for you, it's not wrong. If it doesn't work for you, it's not right.
