Default Observation: finding shampoos WITH SLS is hard

I have an oily scalp and pin straight, fine hair. I find with this combination my hair gets greasy about 1-2 days after washing. I NEED strong surfactants to clear the crud. If I don't, I get acne of the scalp and a gross layer of sebum.

I've tried sulfate free and I hated it, my hair got greasy again within hours.

It seems to me that sodium lauryl sulfate is being mostly phased out by manufacturers, or it was never that ubiquitous to begin with. The only brands I can find that still regularly use it in their formulations are Proctor and Gamble owned ones (Aussie, Pantene, Head and Shoulders, and Herbal Essences). I think the horse shampoo Mane N Tail uses it in their classic shampoo, but I did not like that one (too much protein).

I'm also in Europe which makes things harder. I thought I had stumbled across a gem when I discovered QV Wash (it's actually a skincare line but there's no reason why it can't be used on hair) which contains sodium lauryl sulfate, and is fragrance free (nice bonus) but NOPE, it's been discontinued or is otherwise unable in my country.

I find it a bit frustrating that the move towards less cleansing, more moisturising shampoos means that some of us are being left out. Surely inclusivity means including EVERYONE?

Anyone else in the same boat?

My scalp doesn't absolutely require SLS in particular, but I do prefer to wash with sulfates in general.

You could look into shampoos with ALS (ammonium lauryl sulfate). It has the cleansing power of SLS but is known to be less irritating and therefore probably gaining popularity right now.

Suave Essentials has SLES unless things are different in Europe.
HL now, current goal is Classic
Weekly wash alternating SLES with sulfate-free, bbb enthusiast, sealing all the moisture in with *gasp!* baby oil! No trimming 2021 (first half)

In the UK you for sure have the Garnier "blends" line, those have SLES. If you want SLES & SLS, you need to either get Herbal Essences or Pantene, and if you're that oily only go with their anti-dandruff or volumizing shampoo. Just FYI.

I need the harsher stuff too.

And regular Head & Shoulders (classic line) will always work too!

    You can't get Suave here!
Unfortunately. Not in The Netherlands, Belgium, the UK should have V05 though!
