Aaaggggahhhhhh!!!! It's been YEARS since I was last on this site! I'm talking around 2013'ish!! And it feeeeelllllss good to be back!!
I stopped because I became discouraged! I have a lot of hair but most of it is fine. So once my hair gets to a certain length it just looks "ratty". Which made me sad, since I'd love to have long amazing hair without the "ratty" ends.
I am trying to love, accept and appreciate how my hair grows now!
Also, I used to use ayurvedic hair powders and henna and then I stopped. Switched back to commercial shampoo and now I'm going back to my beloved forgotten hair powders.
I washed my hair last night with them and boy! What a difference from just one use!!
I stopped using them because I grew tired of the "weird" herbal smell that it left in my hair. Which is why I went back to commercial! However, all these years and I CANNOT find a shampoo that treats my hair right!!
As much as I loved henna, I will not be going back to her. I now have a bunch of silvers hairs that I'm fond of and don't want to dye
BUT!! If anyone has an idea on how to use henna without covering up grays...please let me know!
Also, if anyone knows how to make hair smell good after using herbal powders...please share!!
Thank you for listening to my rant!!
Oh!! I can't figure out how to update my profile pic!
So, if anyone can tell me, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Perhaps something like a rose water spritz could help with the herbal smell you mentioned? Or a different essential oil of your liking.

Thank you that is a great idea!!
Thank you!
When my hair gets a bit too earthy from henna, I wash with scent remover shampoo, the stuff hunters use.
It doesn't completely eliminate the smell but it does help a lot. I also mix a little orange essential oil into my henna mud, makes it a bit better.

If you don't want use henna but still are interested in herbal treatments maybe you could try cassia?

Welcome!!!
I tend to just spritz perfume post-henna. Citrus notes work really well with it. Maybe you have a perfume that would work well with the herbal scents you’re trying to cover?
