Check that the date and time are set properly. If the date is wrong, SSL will not work.

The PC may need a new coin-cell battery.

PC and smartphone FF are not quite the same so one may work and the other not even though both are "up to date". If you use Firefox, Chrome might help until then. It works for virtually everything (but it's a resource hog).
I have never heard that mentioned about Firefox. Where did you hear that? Could you link me to a resource?

    It's very strange.

I'm running Windows Defender on my PC. I checked it out but couldn't see anything I could've done there. I have indeed googled the issue but didn't find any suggestion that helped, and some of the stuff I didn't quite understand either.

The system time is correct, but it's not synced with the forum (while I'm logged out). I'm not sure if it's supposed to be, or if it just relies on the timezone you've set for your profile, which then shows the time accordingly while you're logged in.

I'm using a desktop, does it even have a coin-cell battery?

    Is the system date correct?

Desktops have a coin-cell battery which powers the clock/calendar when the computer is turned off.

I think the language of frustration is pretty much universal

    Thank you!

When you cleared cache and cookies did you do it selectively for LHC or did you clear everything? If done selectively, is it possible you missed something?

    Thanks for trying.

Man, I have no idea who or what could possibly help me here!

For fun, I tried entering the wrong password, but the result is the same. It just reloads, doesn't say anything.
