Thread: Serious hair for the first time at 55

Default Serious hair for the first time at 55

You read correctly, at the age when most women are embracing short no-fuss hair, I find myself with hair down to my lower back, lol! I'm having some struggles, but it looks like there are a lot of hair experts here, so I'm feeling hopeful! :-)

LOL, when I was your age, my hair was even shorter so there certainly is hope. Welcome!

I only accepted my natural color & texture in my thirties; there's hope for you yet. Ah, I'm joking. Of course.

    Welcome!

Welcome to the forum! There's nothing wrong with growing your hair long at an older age! I'm 56 and don't intend to cut it! (Began growing it at age 45...)

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I think I was 41 when I started growing out my hair, starting from hair that was about 4 inches long. I've spent a lot of those years trimming it about as fast as it grew, but even if I hadn't, I can't imagine it would ever have gotten as long as your hair, WOW!

It's awesome to see that there are other "middle-aged" ladies doing serious long hair, at an age when most of our compatriots are embracing "mom hair"!

Welcome, from a fellow middle-aged lady! This forum has helped me so much over the years when I got discouraged and cut it off. I am done with "mom hair"--hopefully for good!
