In your display, is the post you can't see the first on a new page? The first link works correctly for me and the only thing I can think of is our irritating first post on a new page gremlin.

Thanks neko. There are currently 10 entries on page 493 of the the thread. The 2 most recent posts to this thread are not viewable by me. Your gremlin, if it's at work, could only explain one of the missing items i think based upon your description.

I think I got at least half of it.

I changed the number of posts displayed per page from "forum default" (I guess that's 10) to 20.

Now at least I see post3878227.

Still no sign of post3878226 but maybe these postID's aren't consecutive

Correct, post IDs are not consecutive to a thread but to the entire site.

So, this is an interesting vbb formatting tidbit I came across while making the Hairstyle Thesaurus. There is a shortcut to link to specific posts by only using the post number. The format is post=postnumber with open and close brackets and the text you want to display for the link between. So if I use parenthesis instead of brackets it looks like: (POST=3878226)testing(/POST)

Formatted correctly with brackets it displays like:
testing

Cool, not sure how I can use that but knowing about it may come in handy some day.

Just an fyi, you can use the NOPARSE tags to shield brackets from the interpretter so you don't have to use pseudo-brackets (parenetheses) when explaining things like this

Oooh a shortcut? I mean the times I linked a direct post are far and few between, but I used to click with the alternate mouse button, then pick "copy link" and paste all of that into the message. This is way easier; thank you!
