Last year I cut my hair to armpit length in January, as of today I'm mid-back length again. The goal is to have waist-length curly hair which will be knee-length when straight or wet. I'm keeping my hair braided and making sure to deep condition every other wash, I also use oils to lock in moisture ☺️. I donít know how long this will take me but Iím excited to see how my hair looks at knee-length. If you have any tips please share 🤍😇

My hair is currently sitting on my tailbone from what I can see and feel, this week I measured my hair and it was 27 inches (the back pieces), I am so close to 35 inches and it's unbelievable! Not cutting my hair has been a life saver and it has taught me to be aware of my ends more and to not play in my hair everyday.

Lightbulb Re: Knee Length Curly Hair?

    Hair goals?

Okay, I have made some observations and I think I know what my hair needs for the next two years.

Goal #1: Protein, Olaplex, and Deep conditioning treatments weekly & monthly.

I used to do protein treatments every 1-2 months but I stopped when I started using flaxseed gel in my routine, I didn't notice a difference until a few months ago. I have also slacked on the deep conditioning due to my laziness... As for Olaplex this is just going to help keep my split ends from spreading until I get to 38 inches. I plan on cutting a few inches at that mark to get thicker ends before my next length goal. So far the oiling routine that I do out of the shower has been keeping my hair extremely hydrated but I do need a little more help.

Goal #2: Use rosemary water & essential oil in my weekly hair care!

This was an old holy grail at the beginning of my natural hair journey, for some reason I stopped using it and I regret it! My hair was much more dense and luscious when I used rosemary in my routine. I even used essential oils in my stray bottle to refresh my scalp back in the day! I need to bring this back, baby!

    Goal #3: Scalp Massages!

This one is a "no brainer" but I only massage my scalp in the shower, I know I'm missing out on the benefits of daily scalp stimulation. I want to become consistent and see what it does for my hair, we know knee length means lots of blood flow, lol!

    Goal #4: Use supplements!

I also did this at the beginning and middle of my journey, I used MSM, Biotin, Fish oil, and Prenatal vitamins, my hair felt stronger and grew faster. I have been taking Collagen for a few months and I have been eating Sardines, I want to try a few more and see how it helps with the overall health of my hair, skin and nails. So far the Collagen has my nails rock hard and my skin looks more plump, I am excited to see what else happens!

Here are some throwback pictures, looking at them now I think my hair looked super healthy.

Thank you! This is an old natural hair community trick, it was popular on youtube for a few years, you can make one or buy them on etsy.
