Profile picture not showing

Hi! I'm a newbie, but I just graduated to a full member the other day. My profile picture shows up on my profile, but it isn't showing when I make posts. I've already tried re-uploading it. Any help would be appreciated!

Edit: I figured it out. What shows up on posts is the avatar, while the profile picture is different. I'll leave this up for anyone else who has the same question!

Ok, so I'm trying to change my profile picture (not my avatar), the one that shows up when people visit my profile; right now it's showing my old dreadlocks, I'd like to use a more recent picture.

But, how....?
I can edit everything about my profile it seems, apart from the picture!
I've put the one I want to use in one of my albums, hoping that that way I can select it to be set as profile picture, but nope.

Can anyone help me?

Site's pics (avatar/profile/sig) aren't stored in your albums but somewhere else.

In My Settings did you (left hand side) Edit Profile Picture? At the bottom You can either upload from your computer or grab it off the web somewhere.

Yay, that's it, thank you!
I was going to my profile first, and trying to use the 'edit' version there... rather than going into Settings first.

And even though I got a message saying that the upload failed when I tried to save the new profile picture, it seems to be in place anyway!
