Smile Hi! Another newbie here :)

    Greetings everyone!

First of all, I would like to thank you for letting me join the LHC! I finally decided to register, because I literally stuck here for the past two days, reading the threads and checking the photos of beautiful and healthy long hair

Honestly, I never had very long hair myself, but I would love to! My 'terminal' length of all time was just a bit below my shoulder blades. I have never been able to reach even the waistline, because my hair was very dry, with lots of split ends and breakage, so each time I was forced to chop it all off and start again. So, I'm struggling to grow my hair for about a decade now. Of course, I did a lot of mistakes throughout, such as dye experiments (raven black, fiery red, pastel pink, bleached blonde - omg, I'm crying), use of flat iron (because I love my hair "1a" straight ). After my first child was born, I had a "lob" haircut (twice in the last 3 years).

This year I strongly decided to fulfill my dream-of-all-time, and start growing my hair healthy and finally reach my goal of a tailbone length

    My current hair:
2b/c/m/ii (I hope I choose everything right, not sure yet!
'virgin' hair color tone - approx 6 (+ small amount of first silvers)
Length: just reached my shoulder blades
Last time I dyed my hair (box dye)- mid-October 2020

    My goals:
Avoid heat as much as possible
Regular oil hair treatments (currently using coconut + castor oil)
Regular micro-trims instead of chopping the ends completely
Use of vitamins/supplements for better hair/skin/nails
Maybe I will add something else later If you have any suggestions, I will be happy to hear it

Thank you for reading this! Glad to "e-meet" you all! Cheers from Latvia!

First off, what I thought reading your intro. Never trust a hairdresser on the saying "split ends" because they think even what we call "fairytale ends" are "split ends". We go by a single hair being truly split, not by hair that appears to be dryer. That just means your ends might need a little TLC. Always try moisturizers first and that means good conditioners, aka for dry damaged hair, even though you don't have that type it just means they are the most moisturizing on the market. Try that first, before even thinking of having it chopped off. Length is precious here!

Are you going to let your silvers come in. We have a thread for that, called the salt & pepper thread. Awesome bunch of us down there.

    Anyway, where's my manners? Welcome!

Hi Lapushka, Thanks for your reply and nice to meet you
Remembering my hair condition approx. 5-7 years ago, I can say that it was definitely split ends
Anyways, overall condition of my hair is much better this time, and I'm so happy about it. My hair feels soft and it's not tangled. The only thing that I don't really like about my hair is sparse hair ends, hope there is some way to improve that.
