Several of us shorties these days. I'm just to 5" right now though.......... ugh!

Dang, I just lost a more or less intelligent reply to some touchpad glitch which took me to one of the ad's on this page..
Oh well.. The highlights:

Goal: classic
tried: two times before, cut after about 1 year
hair: short for 9-10 years
strategy: grow for more than 1 year to make sure I'll get to a length where I'll feel it'd be to much to sacrifice for a few months of shock value and fun with short hair

Hmmm, mine has been short for 12 yrs or so.

25ish" for goal.
Used to have BSL back in HS and early college.
Needed a change - couldn't go any shorter..LOL!!!

Hey, Fluke, I totally "get" what you mean about the shock value of short hair. You should have seen the jaws drop when I first went out with mine. And I got all kinds of comments from "it makes you look so young" to "you look just like a little boy" (obviously not all of them were desirable). Mostly older women said positive things (I guess because they thought I was joining their "club") and men (regardless of age) said nothing. A few younger women said, "It's...um...cute" and that was about it.

I wish we could go from short to long at the snap of our fingers, but, unfortunately, it's a bit of a long and agonizing process. Hang in there...and know I'm hanging in there with you!

Smilinjenn, you made me laugh when you said "couldn't go any shorter"! I was at that point not all that long ago. You'll love it once your hair gets long (I've been there, so I know). It's just this in-between part that's torture.

The last one who said that was my boss actually....

That's one of the reasons I want to grow it out, I've been single for more than 4 years for crying out loud, and it won't help if I'm looking like a little boy to boot!!

*ok, being single for 4 years might not be that long, but for one who hasn't really been "without company" since she started to get company at all that is horrible!*
