    Default Ignore feature question

I've searched, to the best of my abilities, for an answer to this but maybe I need another cup of coffee. When I put a member on ignore, I know I cannot see their posts; but do they see mine?

I've been a member of several communities over the years where that's how it works but I'm unable to ascertain if it does here. Honestly, I need to ignore but I don't want to hurt feelings. Does that make sense?

    Many thanks for an answer!

    Yes they can.

Yes you just can't see their replies but they can still see what all you post. And you can always keep up, by clicking "view post" on an ignored post, if you for instance do need to see the reply to follow the flow of the thread.

Oh interesting, on another forum I use the ignore feature makes it as if the other member almost just doesn't exist, unless someone else quotes one of their posts. So here it shows they've posted, just hides their post, is that what you mean?

It shows they've posted in a sort of grayed out "box" almost; and then it has a link "view post" and you can click that. But you see that there's been a post by them. I use it sparingly, and for all sorts of different reasons. Not because someone "annoys" me, necessarily.

Of course, if someone quotes them, fairly little you can do but almost get dragged into the conversation.

it makes the ignore feature somewhat redundant if you can still see that they have posted even if it is hidden, or that they can still see what you post, so I don't really bother, I can just not read the post and move on

Ok, well, thanks for the input. I was asking only for the mechanics, I wasn't inferring any judgment nor did I ask for any.
